Playing Therimin at Moog Soundroom

Asheville is the home of the moog factory (http://www.moogmusic.com/history.php?cat_id=4) which was founded by Robert Moog and has contributed many legendary electronic musical instruments to pop music. Moog Music is situated on a factory floor in Asheville. Hutch organised a little tour for us and everyone at moog was really friendly and welcoming. It was good to see that moog is a doing business and surviving with a local production.

One of the moog synthesisers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moog_synthesizer), which is produced in the manufacture in Asheville.

I test a Therimin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theremin) at the Moog Soundroom where you can test all their instruments. The Therimin is a wooden box with two metal antennas. While moving the hands near those antennas (without touching) the Therimin is producing weired spherical electronic sounds.

Unfortunately I cannot sing at all, Keith! The great thing about the little machine is that you just need to move you hand next to its antenna and then it makes all the sound for you!
