Jen arrived on Saturday afternoon, and we've had a blast since. After taking a 2 hour nap, we headed off to the East End for a beer and some Indian food, then we took the tube to Finsbury Park to see a friend's band play (called the Whole Schabang, they were good). The next day was nice and sunny, and we went to Hyde Park and met up with my old friend from boarding school, Patrick Stanton. From there we went to a free city festival called StokeFest, which was fun, but too crowded. So we headed east again where we bumped into this cool graffiti exhibit on retired tube cars, which was up on the roof of a building in Shoreditch. Jennifer's first days in town were a whirlwind - sounds like you had fun. How does the graffiti compare to that in Atlanta?
London has great graffiti. I haven't done a thorough exploration yet, but we've seen some good stuff just roaming around the East End. Finding this place with the retired trains on the roof was on my list of things to do, and we stumbled into it on Day 2 without even trying!
Well son how does it feel to be the big FOUR OH? Hope you mark the day with a memorable event. Simple math tells me that I was 22 when you born, its seems like yesterday. Enjoy the people in your life, enjoy the things you do and enjoy the places you are at! ENOUGH. Happy bithday!!!!
Thanks for the good words to live by Pop! You must have been scared shitless to have a child so young!
It doesn't feel that different, to be honest, but then it might take time for it to settle in.
I'll be down at your favorite pub - the White Horse - with some friends from work and some others as well (possibly Patrick Stanton from Choate). I do believe it will be memorable (with the help of photographs!).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY (. . .right?)
Robotham
Good motto for everyone, John.
Sounds as though you are feeling a tad emotional today - not unlike you were on Jennifer and Hutch's wedding day.
Isn't it nice that our children turned out to be the great people they are??!!
Best to you and Linda and, oh yes, Happy Birthday to you, Hutch!
Happy Birthday - I hit the 40 a few months ago, it's fine. Certainly better than the alternative.
Take care,
Chris
