to answer these questions, I'm not sharing the apt with anyone, but there are at least two other units above me, which explains the pile of mail at the front door.
I was told by the landlord that the washer works but not the drying feature, so I'll be hanging things to dry on this nifty rack they provided in the pantry.
I told you you'd be hanging your clothes in the kitchen!
