Brick Lane

Had one of the first sunny days in weeks (partially sunny to be
precise) and I was happy to spend it at Spitafields and Brick Lane in
the East End. There are many cool shops and, more interestingly, many
random people seemingly conducting yard sales on the sidewalks. And I
think I heard an authentic cockney accent or two...

If it's a cool, authentic cockney accent you're after you should have stuck with the Arsenal. Stinky Chelsea fans have a distinctive Russian lilt these days . . .
;)

Oh, dear. I fear I may have started something!

Not at all! Next time Arsenal play Chelsea we can have a few friendly beers and perhaps a small wager?

Although I do not currently accept roubles.

Ah, I'm not sure the Russian history of Chelsea....but not a detriment in my mind....some of our favorite athletes are Russian!

Hahaha! Good stuff!

I believe the Russian connection is that Chelsea is owned by a billionaire Russian "business man" (or is it "gangster?")

To set the record straight, I decided to route for Chelsea against Wigan AFTER Arsenal had its unfortunate downward slide against Liverpool the first weekend I was here. At that point, it seemed they were out of it, and I liked Chelsea better than Wigan since Wigan upset (via tie) Arsenal in the game we watched at the Brew House. So, there was a logic here. Unfortunately, Wigan did it again and upset Chelsea in a tie as well.

Ha! It sort of looks like you might be doomed to be a Wigan supporter - oh no!

Hope you're having a ball, buddy.
